I’m Breaking Up With Body Rock

It’s not you, it’s me. Just kidding, it’s you. I’ve decided to part ways with the 30 day body rock system and take my own route. Every other exercise I’ve done has been fun. Maybe it’s because they wanted me to do mountain climbers and burpees mixed with other stuff. Maybe I’m just taking it out on BodyRock and they didn’t do anything wrong. But, I’ve decided that if I’m going to do this, it’s going to be fun. So – more sexy body by sexual big booty lady (here) and less learn all these complicated moves and do them a few times and die.

Whew – sorry for the rant. But, tonight I’m doing some fun pop dance workout stuff!

Here you go 🙂

The  “That’s What Makes You Bootyful” Booty Challenge! WOAH Painful!

One Direction, please give me this booty:

There’s this one too, but I think my legs have had enough for the day:

SO DAY FOUR is over! And I’m still challenging myself. I’m still going! Just not with BodyRock, sorry guys…

Today wasn’t a great food day either.

Breakfast: Nutrigrain bar that made me want to puke. Ew.
Lunch: Wendy’s Hamburger (ugh, gross)
Dinner: Manwich, Cheese biscuit, green beans

So Unhealthy today, but not gonna punish myself. Just going to work harder tomorrow to eat better!!

On to paint another coat of primer! (My last coat for the dressers!!!!!) Can’t wait to have them back in my bedroom 🙂

Woah. Day Three

OK, today is unofficially named “Jessica walks like a penguin” day because OMG I was sore all day! BUT I still did day three of the BodyRock workout challenge! Whooooo so proud of myself for that!! Feeling the burn though!

Hanging Knee Ups: 20, 23, 23 (also modified due to lack of arm life) Feet on the floor, one leg raised at a time

My food wasn’t so great today, whoops. Not punishing myself for eating poorly though…

Breakfast: A CINNAMON ROLL (I know)
Lunch: One apple, 20 FRENCH FRIES (again, ugh, know)
Dinner: Kicken Chicken (YUM): Buffalo chicken wrap (FRIED) and more FRENCH FRIES and ranch.

Don’t scold me, I was going with what we had in the house (and then craving some real food) 😉

Also, hope I can keep my boobs like this:

And get a butt like this:

Always nice to have some goals and inspiration. Photos from Fuck Yeah Fitspo.

Oh yeah and I weighed myself this morning. Was scared to do that but it wasn’t too bad. I’m at 154.8 today. I’m thinking of setting my short term goal weight at 130. I’m not worried about the number, just the shape that my body gets into.

🙂

Tonight’s Cardio

Didn’t get to the zumba – didn’t think I could take a whole 50 minutes of that. And it looked like some complicated moves for my tired brain to process this evening! So, I did two “Sexy Body” workouts (LOL) But, I’m sweating like a pig and feeling good. I’m almost embarrassed to say what they are called. Both of them are taught by someone named Tiffany Rothe who really wants you to embrace yourself as a sexual woman. Hmmm… don’t know about that but you can find her website here.

First workout here. 10 Minute Booty Shaking Waist Workout (yes, really) And it is good and fun!

Second workout here  Get Your Sexy Back

WHOO I’m feeling the burn! How I Feel After Working Out (whatshouldwecallme)

Dinner: Some chicken with a sour cream and mozzarella cheese spread topped with Italian bread crumbs. Frozen corn. Macaroni and cheese (not the best weight loss meal ever but it was delicious!)

Dessert: Tutti Frutti where we are regulars. Cheesecake yogurt with strawberries and chocolate chips. SO GOOD!

OMG JK

My legs are dying from those 3 simple poses this morning! Maybe some cardio this afternoon if I can move?

This Zumba video from YouTube looks pretty fun! I guess I will try that this afternoon… maybe I can convince my sister-in-law to do it with me 😉

Breakfast: Cup of Irish Breakfast Tea, teaspoon sugar, splash of 2% milk. Yoplait lite yogurt (strawberry) with granola. YUM, my favorite – eat it every morning.

Lunch: A couple of eggs with some cheese and salt/pepper.

Water: 2 tumblers so far (not sure what the measurement of “tumbler” is)

-Jessica

PS – been doing this almost everyday with my SIL. CAN.NOT.STOP. And it has been a good workout (cardio and legs) 🙂

Day 1: What Am I Doing?

What am I getting myself into?

Before pics (No judgement, please):

Also, don’t mind the mess. Our whole bedroom is crazy because we don’t have dressers to put clothes in!

So, day 1 (Monday, September 24, 2012) fit test. 50 second work, 10 second break, 3 rounds each.

Squats: 21, 21, 21
Push-ups (box): 24, 22, 21
Tricep Dips: 13, 13, 13
Abs: 20, 19, 20

No clue how good or bad this is. But, I’m not comparing to others. Just to myself at the end of the month.

Dinner: Baked Chicken Parm (Chicken, shake and bake, spaghetti noodles, mozzarella cheese) and peas. Dessert: YUMMY smoothie (spinach, frozen fruits, banana, water).

Tomorrow: Body Flow (Yoga?)

Also, thought I would throw in a link to the interval timer I used online (which worked AWESOME and is FREE) 🙂 TIMER – Not sure what a tabata is but I used tabatas as rounds. So, for this first fit test I did 4 cycles, 3 tabatas! Yay free stuff!

Starting Today

Ok,

So I found BodyRock through Pinterest recently. They have a 30 day challenge that I’m starting today. I am taking pictures and will post them since no one is reading this to judge me 😉 I will post my progress (intervals, etc.) And, I’m going to post what I eat, even if it’s terrible, just to keep track of it. I can’t quit if I’m posting about it, right? Right. Starting now.

I don’t have any of the equipment. I want the Ugi ball but it is $100. Yes, 100 dollars for a workout ball. But, I found a similar one on Amazon – 6 pounds for $14. Much better – will order on Friday when my husband gets paid!

More of this:

Less of this:

Update on dressers – got two coats of primer on one of the dressers! This is taking longer than expected but I look forward to getting to work on them even if it’s for an hour every few days. But, I’m ready to have a place to put my clothes again!! Will post a picture when the next dresser is all primed up and ready to be painted!

Jessica

Go Jackets!

Haven’t had much time work on dressers. Did get the top of one of them sanded down, though. I ♥ primer and sandpaper!
Saturday I went with my dad and sister to the Georgia Tech game. So much fun!

I do have coat number 2 put on the drawers and they are looking great (and white!)… Now on to the actual dressers and more catching up on Dexter (my project show).

I’m hoping to get back to work on those dressers soon… because there are SO many more projects to be done.

Jessica

Update on Dressers

Here are the drawers with one coat of primer:

I went to Sherwin Williams yesterday to get a gallon of real primer (not spray on) and it works SO much better! AND on sale for $19.99 for the gallon

Will be doing a second coat of primer to all drawers and then deciding how to get the dressers into the sun room where all the drawers are drying on the floor. Maybe put them in the bedroom in place of the dressers… Got to figure out a better temporary place for our clothes before my husband gets too anxious about them being piled up in laundry baskets!

Along with the drawers comes hardware, another small step in this project. I spray painted them once during phase 1 of painting (the failed phase) but will be re-doing them because I couldn’t find the paint I used previously.

Update with coat number 2 –

– Jessica

Hello people!

I’m going to pick things that I want to try and upload how it’s going. My first project: re-painting my dressers. My husband and I moved to South Carolina on January 1st and didn’t have room for our old dressers. So, we chopped them up and threw them in the dump. So, we got moved into our new apartment and had clothes everywhere with no place to put them. So, my lovely husband (the frugal shopper that he is) found us two wooden dressers for $40 from Goodwill. It was very obvious that they were because they had the classic old, Goodwill smell which lingered through the house. There is no way I was putting my clothes in those stinky drawers so I decided to paint them to try to cover up the wonderful scent. They looked amazing when I was finished! But, the paint is already peeling (because I had no clue what I was doing) and the inside of the drawers need to be painted as well. So… painting dressers phase 2 begins now. And I’ll be using primer this time! After Googling around for sites on how to paint wooden dressers I realized my faults and will be giving it another go…

Reference: http://www.sasinteriors.net/2012/08/how-to-paint-laminate-furniture/

Since I don’t have a power sander, I will attempt to hand-sand the smoother parts of the dressers. Maybe I should invest in some power tools…

Here is a before (post phase 1 painting, pre phase 2 painting):

Dresser

Looks good from afar, right?? Not up close:

My husband put a glass of water on the dresser about a week after they were painted. This happened… yes I had to bite my tongue.

Some other issues: I painted the inside of my drawers yellow. And I hate it now. Also, some of the yellow paint got on the outside of the drawers. It looks terrible!

EW

So, the “touch up” of my failed project begins. Any suggestions would be appreciated… updates soon.

A drawer with some spray paint primer and a little bit of hand sanding on the front. I say a little because I got tired and quit..

That took a lot of spray paint. So, I’m going to get some non-spray primer to use. Got a lot of work to do…
